Course Duration and Structure:

The course is conducted over two days, with a minimum duration of 12 hours. Ideally, it is usually run over two consecutive days, but it can be spread over a longer period of time if needed, provided it is completed within 6 weeks of starting the course. The training sessions must last for a minimum of two hours.

Course Syllabus:

The emergency first aid at work refresher course covers a range of topics, including:

· Legalities, responsibilities, and reporting
· Resuscitation and AED awareness
· Assessment of the situation
· Dealing with an unresponsive casualty
· Bandaging
· Shock (including Anaphylaxis)
· Fractures and spinal injuries
· Heart attacks
· Choking
· Control of bleeding
· Head injuries
· Eye injuries
· Poisoning
· Chest injuries
· Sprains and strains
· Burns
· Asthma
· Diabetes
· Epilepsy
· Stroke

These topics are carefully selected to ensure that you are fully equipped to handle any first aid emergency in the workplace.

Enrolment and Requirements:

The course can accommodate up to 12 students, with a minimum age requirement of 14. Certification is subject to successful assessment based on practical assessments conducted throughout the course and written test papers for unit 2.
